If they are the same as TC, I usually buy them from Moss Motors or from FTFU. Installing is very difficult. Moss sells a tool which helps make it easier, but it still is not easy.

yesterday i prepared the 8 inch headlights with new round bullets
I glued nuts from the inside on the headlight ring so that I can fix the racing grids very quickly
now I was still waiting for blind rivet nuts to finally mount the headlights

also the rubber for the bush shock link in the back are here.
Carl was so kindly to sent me his tools to press them in

so i will try to take the shock absorbers off and see what happens, is it diifcult to take them off?
not seen in the moment how they are fixed

some more tips ?

will start in probably 4 hours, first meeting with my family

Removing the shocks is easy. Replacing the rubber is not. Two bolts hold the shock in place on the chassis. And one nut for the link arm.

so one side done
don t know if it is at all cars like this with the flip board
first time i wanted to open the back, i doesn t know how to do it

so some pictures before what you see

next step was to opend the nuts on the shock absorber
in the deep, difficult to get good light there
the screws was dirty, so horrible to open, takes me 20 minutes
the nut on the pin ? was easy
the bush was really bad so easy to take the shock absorber out

next step was cleaning all parts
after this i took the first tool to pull the bush into the link arm

this was really easy, done it with my bench vice and some detergent

second step was difficult, but after the first time it works in 10 minutes
i polished the tool i got from carl, put some detergent on it and push it with a big screw clamp
i turn around a little bit so it go better through the bush

i will make some more picture when i do the other side

this took me about 1,5 hour
but
it was really difficult to put the shock absorber back to his place
first put it in in the lower position, fix it a liitle bit with the nut
now it was really difficult to place the outer screw through the hole
i grind the end of the screw like a pencil to place the screw in the hole
now it works
but it takes me more then 2 hourse to fix all screws
i think it was the wrong position of the axle, one other problem it saw when i opend the back, on the left side it was to far back
i opend the screws of the leaf springs and pull the axle a little bit to the front

now all ok

i will do the other side tomorrow in the evening


i will see how much work in the office tomorrow with corona ;-(

if the screws are all clean you get out the shock absorber in 15 minutes
and if you know what to do
and you have the right tools the bush is in in about 20 minutes
so i done the first part after lunch ;-)

in the last picture i push in the placeholder, don t know the word ...
then i took a little nut to push it 5mm more in
after this i can take out all and the placeholder stay in it position

then i took the pin and put it in the right position,
all together i put it in the bench vise
and turn around to push it in
with the tools from carl and the expirence from yesterday, really easy

Very nice. I've been planning to build a jig to hold the link arm. Now that I see yours, it gives me a good idea on how to do it. Without a jig like that it's really hard to get the link into the shock arm bushing.

easy to use,
one step i have done was different
I only have one vice and no press
i will take the distance you need with the vice and post it.
i have made some 3d drawing of the tools, but can t print them , shit happens
if carl allows it i will upload the drawings here
nearly ready,
one tool i would make a little bit different, i would post it here too

Franz,
no problem, upload the drawings - specially a drawing of the jig to hold the link arm,
without this jig it is not possible to press the link arm into the rubber bush,

It is possible, just not easy. I've done it a few times and hated it each time! I have 8 shocks to do soon so this time I'll make a jig.
