floorboard supports

I see in the "fromtheframeup" catalogue that there are floorboard supports (on the rear side) available. Is this an original item? I never had them but if those supports were there from the factory I would like to make them. Anybody knows if these are original? and if so, what are the dimensions of those items? Length, width, thickness

Thanks,

Josh, TC5061

If you mean the piece between the floorboard and the vertical rear bulkhead wood piece, I think they are original but I've never had them installed either. I do plan to install them to help seal up that joint. Maybe someone can confirm they are original?

A peek at TCs Forever (if you have a copy) might also reveal the answer.

Yes, floorboard supports are original and they are necessary even though some of the floorboard rests on the frame.
The supports screw or bolt onto the back of the rear deck riser and the lower flanges allow the floorboards to rest on them. Bolts or screws hold the floorboards down onto the support flanges.
These supports have the added benefit of filling a large gap.
Ran without them for years but the gap allowed water to get into the floorboard area. Also, believe there is some additional rigidity added to the coachworks.

I haven't looked at Doug's offerings yet at FTFU. However, on a whim I checked eBay and here's a set in stainless steel from the UK for about $42.00 delivered to the US. eBay item number:

^^^ I have just bought one of these sets. The only reservation I have is that the price is a bit steep for what is, after all, just some bent metal... but a fool and their money etc. :P

Ahh-hh-h, but he had to redesign them from originals, buy the metal, cut the metal, bend it, drill holes, package and ship. Plus it's stainless steel, no rust. How many will he sell? Probably just recouping his investment with little to show for his time at $42 per set delivered from across the puddle. Just saying……
