Seat mountying hardware

Here's an easy one. Are the seat slides and mounting brackets supposed to be black or silver/galvanized color? My guess is silver but black would blend in with the carpet. I'm looking for originality. I don't trust what I generally see in photos of rebuilds. Too many liberties have been taken on small details.

Thanks, Mark

I had my seat runners zinc plated. I understand they were probably cadmium plated originally (secured with T-nuts). The seat adjuster levers are chrome

Original was bright cadmium or nickel, the adjuster handle is chrome.

Thanks Guys. My adjuster handles have been chromed. I thought that the slides should be "Cad" color. I'll do the cadmium color. My TD slides are silver/zinc in color so I guess they just carried on with the same finish..

Mine are dull silver and a bit worse for wear but OK. they are original. Not sure what the plating is

You won't find cadmium plating on most old cars. They used zinc-nickel plating on many things, and if it was something visible like a radiator shell or seat adjust handle, then chrome was added over the zinc-nickel plating. The makers plate on the TC was another example of "nickel" plating.
