Does anyone else see a misalignment?

I bet if the shaft was a bit longer so it could go through all the holes in the springs, it would line up better.

Excellent! I'll make a new longer one. It's amazing what one finds. Cooling Fan was also installed backwards! Thermostat had no thermostat, etc.

Turning the fan around should make a huge difference in traffic! My car doesn't have a thermostat either. It does tend to run way too cold in frigid weather, so I have to cover the radiator in those conditions. One of these days I'll bite the bullet and just put a thermostat back in the thing. Better to run too cold on rare occasion than have an overheating issue though. It runs cool even in triple digit temperatures.

Hi Guys. My carb spindles looks just like yours but I read that the W clips should be at 90 degrees to each other to allow for slight misalignment. Anybody know for sure?
