hood (soft top) replacement TA

I am considering getting a do it yourself replacement top for my TA from the Club Spares Dept as the cost is so much cheaper than professional vehicle upholsters supply and fit. Has anyone any advice on this, the Club offer double duck or Stayfast fabric. The frame seems fine so I would in theory just be tacking on front and back, simples. The original is still in place but tired and should help me with the re-fit ? Am I correct in thinking it wouldn't be too hard with care?

I found this helpful (with a few reservations) when fitting a new hood to my TC. It is though for a TA.

@antijam

How did you fastener the webbing to the frame in the middle ?

Thanks
Ian

I fixed the webbing to the two middle bows with 3/16" dia. 'big head' pop rivets....

....which seems to work well and minimises the protrusion of a fastener head.

Webbing was attached to middle bows with 4 BA screws. The front bow has an extra piece of webbing sewn on the bottom; the bolt head goes between the webbing and cushion, then through the hole in the bow with the washer and square nut on the bottom.
I have attached my instructions for installation of a hood for a TA, TB, or TC. All are the same except the TA and TB had a metal hidem strip on the front edge instead of fabric. That can be sourced from a firm in Australia.
Let me know if you have any questions.

@ Tom Wilson,

Thank you for the instructions.

When I bought the car, it came without a hood, so going into it blind, therefore any photos would be appreciated
