Hi all - Over a year ago I installed a supercharger in TC 7225. Knowing that this would increase the exhaust gas temperature, I fabricated a gasket out of some super-duper high temp gasket material. It has worked ok til now when, after a unexpected backfire on startup, I saw that the gasket material had become so brittle that it has cracked in several places, compromising the seal. That gasket was about twice as thick as the stock one which is good since I thought it would help overcome any unseen irregularities in the joined parts.
Does anyone know of a more suitable gasket material? Would using two stock gaskets be alright? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Jim,
Ask Craag Eubanks in the HMGCC. I believe he said he is using a copper gasket on his racing TC.
