TC Differential CWP setup

Hi All,
I’m in the final stage of setting up my newly rebuilt TC differential and my questions relate to CWP backlash set-up procedure.
Q1: When adjusting the differential carrier bearing adjuster nuts to just pinch the bearing inner tracks and take up all the slack in the bearings (prior to setting the pre-load) and the locking screw position ends up between two slots, is the correct action to tighten slightly further until the next slot lines up correctly with the locking screw?
Q2: The brown book states it should be the offside nut that is tightened one further serration to set the final pre-load. Other messages I’ve read do not specify a particular side. Should one side take preference in the final tightening for pre-loading?
Any thoughts / answers will be gratefully received.
Regards,
Steve C
