MG T-ABC

Hi,
The recent thread on British log books lead me to receive an email stating "Our valuation was for a net return of £2250" for my British registration. I do not have any intention of selling it. But I am curious, who would pay for it and why? And, if I were to sell it, what would I be losing?
When I brought TC1572 into the USA, the state of New Mexico took the original log book. I contacted them several years later to find they had all been destroyed. I am interested in finding as much history as possible but the web sites I have been to have confused me more than helped. The number is DDW 711; if anyone can tell me definitively where it was first registered and where to go for more information I would appreciate it.

here is some info that can help you. It suggests that your car, if I am interpreting correctly, was registered in Newport, Isle of Wight. http://www.cvpg.co.uk/REG.pdf I did not create this info, and cannot verify it, but it seems too complete to be suspect!

Upon a very close look at this information I think the car was first registered in the other Newport near Cardiff and Bristal. The DW location letters are from there. I have emailed to find the history but they want money of course. I have to ask my wife

Too funny Dave ("...but they want money of course. I have to ask my wife.") I have the opposite problem. Every time I look at a car she says, "That one is cute, you should buy it." Now I am swimming in cars and short on cash! Good luck with the Reg investigation. Let us know if you get to a Northern Calif car show, I attend many of them and would enjoy meeting you. By the way, the Ironstone Concours at Murphys in September is the best little show of the year, in my humble opinion. I will be there again this year. Tom

Tom, you're in the same boat as I am. I thought I was lucky to find a wife who encourages me to buy old cars. If I knew then what I know now, I'd have a "normal" wife and a lot more spare time!

Hi,
We have lived in our new house, which we designed, almost a year. When we were designing it one day my wife told the architect to make the garage for three cars so I could restore my MG. I had expected to sell it up to that moment. She takes care of our day to day money and gives me a $20 bill when we go shopping. It is our fun thing.
