TC flywheel

I recently decided to strip the XPAG engine that came with a basket case TC that I bought several years ago. I think the engine came from a later TD as it is fitted with a 8 inch clutch. and 2 bolt hole starter motor.I have decided to replace this with a 7 1/4 clutch and have bought a TC flywheel for this purpose. The main reson for this is that I would like to fit the earlier TC starter motor fitted with the pull cable. My question is that I am unable to remove the larger flywheel that was fitted or fit the smaller TC item without first removing the sump. Is this normal with these engines or am I missing something here?
Dave :(

That's normal. You have to remove the sump to take off the flywheel.

Yep Dave, one of life's little "dammit" moments.

Could be worse. I installed the sump on a fresh engine rebuild and forgot you had to put the flywheel on first. Out came the gasket scraper.
