Questions on brake drums masks on my TC.

My TC is equipped with aluminium disks which hide brake drums. According to the seller, it is a period accessory that allow to cool better brake drums!! ( see attached photo ).
I have never seen this accessory on TC photos in the group.
Do you know who made these accessories.
I hope that you will understand my poor English language.
I try to use the new Discussion Forum, although I prefer Email method.
I hope that the photo will be present.

These mask were period asserossies (sp?) probably from MG Mitten, now long gone....I know of no making them now.....kinda a poor mans Alfin drum!

Dear Claude!
I have heard that brake drums masks were quite common on TC:s in Switzerland in those days.
Just to live up to the comparition with other cars with huge and imposing front brake drums.(Great "stoppingpower" is a positive thing in the mountains) It looks powerful anyhow!!

The disks behind the wheels on the TC is a very very rare aftermarket item referred to as the "BEER TRAY". This is the 3rd time I have seen beer trays on a TC in the past 2 months. Other sightings were a Rhode Island Car and California car. Yes it was a period item of the 50's & 60's and almost forgotten.
Jason Len reported that his disks were "Coors Beer Trays" See photos.

Hi all
Let me bring some light into the mysterious Brake Drum Mask subject. The official importer of MGs to Switzerland, J.H Keller, Zurich, (named Sportcar Ltd. in those days) fitted these locally to all cars delivered about from mid-48, when sales of the TC started to decline. Made out of stamped aluminum with a chamfered edge around the circumference they had to fulfill purely aesthetical aspects. Large brake drums then meant lots of power.
All TC's delivered to Switzerland were also equipped with Scintilla Semaphors by J.H.Keller.
