TA low and high charging

Hi all i am i guess your newest member i have a question regarding my TA which has been in our family for 45 years and is now in my care .
When i have the charge switch in the low position the ignition light is on and there is no charge showing on the
gauge when i switch to high the inanition light goes out and there is a good output on the gauge , also when i have the lights on full there is still and amp or 2 to spare . Am i correct in assuming this is not a Dynamo problem ?

it seems now it must be the control box but i would still really be most grateful of any help
