Hello together,

I am just starting up to check everything according to the
lubrication chart at my TA.
I see a lot of parts which have to get the gear oil for lubrication
front spring, king pin , track rod, steering box.....

A the most areas the former owner has used standard greese.

What are recommendations here.

Clean up all the lubrications points and use the gear oil as recommended
or is grease in some cases suitable.

Has anybode experiance with grease at this points.

Thanks
Carsten

Just done the same to my 1938 TA, Carsten.

I have cleaned all the grease out of the centralised system and replaced it with the correct gear oil...messy, but far better for the trunnions and handbrake cables. I have used general purpose grease on the king pins and steering joints and Penrite Steering Box lubricant in the BC box.

Out of interest, the handbook for my 1934 Morris, indicates you should use gear oil on everything and in fact the "grease" gun supplied with the car was called an oil gun !
PM me if you are not sure.

All the best
