1949 TC - how should I position the seat adjustment track on the floorboard to screw it down - should the rails be as far back as the can be positioned or some distance forward of the rear ramp. Installing new floorboards and no old ones to look at for positioning the rails. Thank you for any help. J Lee

I'll measure my old floorboards in the morning. I'll need to so I can mark the new ones.

Having spent 20 minutes looking for an email about measuring the floor I remembered it was on here.

OK, the RH floor has the three hole bracket nearest the tunnel at:

8cm from the tunnel edge and 64.7 cm from the rear. This is the hole that is nearest the tunnel edge. I couldn't measure the outside as the floor has disintegrated so much it's difficult to tell what was a screw hole from all the other holes.

8cm converts to 3 5/32" and 64.7" is 25 15/32 (call it 25 1/2")

Hope that helps. If you want to email me I'll send you a picture.

Surely, if you have the backrest in an upright position, the squab sliders right back then that's where the hinged brackets will fit. Then the seat can move forward.

Or am I missing something?

Seat design changed around Sept 1946 (Sherrell pg 56 & 66). Early seats had a full length seat back down to the floor and a shorter seat base. I think the track position is the same. Open to correction
