So Martin at Abingdon has found me rods and pistons, but now i am confused on the crank bearings,

are the TA crank bearings white metal poured into the block or are they steel lined half shells,

i have been looking all over my literature and it looks like they should be half shells, but i cant find any for sale anywhere????

similarly, are the cam bearings white metal poured into the block?

any guidance would be great, have almost all the engine except bearings, and push rods,

thanks Justin

Justin, the MPJG main bearings are large steel lined shell bearings that can be re-metalled. You can occasionally find a new set, but the normal is to get the old mains white metalled to match the crank dimensions. The camshaft bearings are separate bearings pressed into the block and line bored/reamed. The centre cam bearing splits into two halves and is held in place by a single bolt that locates within the bearing.
Best wishes, Brian Rainbow TA2551

in the interest in sharing, i am posting a few pictures of the TA center CAM bearing

i have searched everywhere for these with almost no luck,

Martin at Abingdon Spares found some in the end,

they are marked as

"22082 17 MF" and "22085 16 MF"

it is a bronze or brass bearing housing with white metal on the inside, comes apart, and looks like it is held together with a wire tie?

if anyone wants measurements to have one made let me know ok

now i just need to find push rods and a small timing gear.. which i can buy new in England if necessary, 1 arm, 1 leg

thanks Justin
