TC brake line question

Post by Warmuthb » Fri Feb 12, 2016 7:33 am

Can anyone tell me if the brake lines are double flaired or bubble flaired? it's been awhile since I last had them apart and don't remember. I think they are double flaired. I'm looking to make up a set.

thanks,
Brian

Double flared. Here is a set I made up a few years ago next to originals.

Thanks, I made the lines myself from Cupro tubing. The stainless coil came from Roger Furneaux in the UK. The custom stainless steel nuts were of my design, by my machinist who has been making MG parts for 40 years. The only departure from original other than the materials, is the taller wrench flats on the nuts. They still take the original wrench size though.

Steve - did your machinist make any extras, of can he make more of the nuts? I have to start on TC10,000 soon, and would love to use those nuts. Any and all help appreciated.

I put out a call to the group when I had them made and did make some extras, which were immediately sold to members. I could have him make more. The price was very reasonable. As this was a few years ago, I will check with him to see what the current price would be.

I would be very interested as well - guess postage to the UK wouldn't be a problem?
