Greetings All, The e-mail below is from a good friend who owns a TC and TD but opted out of this group many moons ago. I can pass on any help and advice to him.
Many thanks,
Malcolm, in a hot sunny White Rock. (Incidentally my TC won 1st in class this Sunday at the Fraser Valley Classic Car Show -

What the world really needs is a windshield wiper that won’t hold parking tickets.
Malcolm old son: I recently, well within the last year or so, purchased two sets of the subject items, shewn in photograph # 1, via FTFU. Due to the curvatures and thicknesses between the door panels and the interior trim panels (covering the TD dash stiffiner and front top/side and door latch pillars) I have been unable to make the two pieces mate. I have experimented with up to 1/2” thick spacers under the door segment meeting with total failures on each attempt. It looks so neat in the attached instructional sheet (Photo # 1) and it is a neat and pleasing piece of kit. But, for thr life of me, can I get it to work. I might have had some success if I butchered the hidem strips and the trim welds but I opted to give that operation a miss ! Things do not look promissing for the TC either. (If you are interested in a set let me know, the current fee is $ 57.00 US but I’m sure I could be wrankled down) ! Further more; I had previously, through you, asked the aid from the TABC group on alternate methods of safety latches (avoiding cordage and bunge straps). A Klaus Harthof sent me a few photos of a device he created (photos # 2 to # 4) but he was out of stock. One has a measurement but I would also like the width and thickness of the material used. As I will try my hand at making two sets. So Malcolm, would you be so kind as to forward this to the group for their output. Thank you. Respectfully: JE

If he opted out of the group, and is now looking for help, perhaps he should opt back in
