What is the procedure for adjusting (shims) for a “Bishop” steering box “End Cover”?
This is on a 1936 MG TA. I’m familiar with the top cover shim adjustment, but just learned of the End cover adjustment and have been unable to find much info, what am I looking to accomplish with this adjustment?

You are adjusting the "pinch" on the ball bearings which are on either end (front/back) of the steering cam. Of course you do not actually want any "pinch" or end play. Once that is shimmed properly you can move on to the top plate adjustment.
