Crankshaft oil slinger problem.

I am unable to locate the oil slinger. Seeing that the sprocket is as far back as it will go and the chain seems straight, what do you guys think?

If I recall correctly, the slinger is held tight by the crank pulley. So then it shouldn't be an issue. Maybe someone else can confirm. Try putting the pulley on with sump removed and see if it smashes down on the slinger.

Thank you Franz but it does not show how to secure the slinger using the 'cut out' which I presume should sit on the end of the woodruff key. I could either leave it out or try and fix it to the sprocket.
Perhaps it would be held firmly in place by the end of the pulley?

The slot is just there to enable you to slip the slinger over the crank nose with the key in place. The pulley holds the slinger tight.

You can see on the drawing that it isn’t fixed somewhere. I made last year the engine new and was lucky to find this drawing in the book MGTC forever because this slinger was not in the engine.
