Hello all,
Question: I saw a car (TA) recently that had a Nissan steering box fitted.
Do any of you have any experience with this conversion?

Ray,

If this is the modification I think it is, I purchased the conversion kit from Skip Kelsey - it's called the Australian Steering Box Conversion by him - and installed it in my MG TC. It's barely noticeable when you look at it but the difference in the driveability of the car is amazing. It took about 4 hours total (and that was only because the directions weren't as good as they could have been). I just looked at Skip's site (http://www.shadetreemotors.com/) and it's being sold now for $630. It's a bargain at that price IMHO.

I almost consider this conversion a must. It's hardly noticeable when installed.. My TC steers effortlessly, goes where I point it and no longer wanders all over the road. The cost of the OZ unit is about the same as the cost of rebuild parts for the Bishop box. Keep the old box as it is original and should remain with the car.
