I'm restoring TC6970 and found that the valve body in the master cylinder had an incorrect replacement that is also damaged. Can't find a source for a replacement or substitution. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi ya psych (not sure who you are as no name sorry) but I suspect FTFU will have the seperate part, but not seen them sold in UK singuarly. However, if you are in UK(I can't determine that either) then I can find one for you, cheers Chris

The problem is that I don't have the original, Attached are pictures of the valve that came in the master cylinder. The valve is damaged and looking for a replacement. Was hoping to buy an original style, but I have to believe others would work. Neil

In a pinch, you can run without it. I ran for many years with no valve without issue. Just make sure your brake shoe return springs are in good condition. Beyond that, I think that if you find a valve of the same size in another drum brake MC then you could use that in its place. Most of the ones I've seen have a replaceable rubber component.
