Tis now the season where I am back to restoring my TC again. A quick question - how do I work out if my current clutch cover and pressure plate is ok to reuse?

The two machined surfaces should be smooth and even. The disc should have no cracks and the lining should have plenty of meat on it. A lining shop can inspect these for you and machine the plate if necessary. It's kind of hard to measure for warpage but they can do it easily. They can also inspect the springs to make sure they are even and working properly. For a home inspection, just make sure the springs work and none are broken. Maybe others have more ideas.

Steve, on the basis that to replace it means engine out, I would fit new pressure plate, centre plate and release bearing. Also check the fork that the RB fits to is free and not bent.
I will be going past on Sunday afternoon, If I'm not running really late do you want me to pop in. (if so email your address again)
