S.O.S. DISTRIBUTOR. 123 IGNITION MGXPAG

Post by JUANRAF » Fri Sep 03, 2021 11:43 pm

Hello from Spain!

I have installed a 123 electronic ignition for xpag engine. I can choose 16 curves with different advances. Does anyone have this electronic ignition installed? which curve is the best? should I give more degrees of static advance? how many degrees?
please help!

The correct advance curve will depend on your engine's specs and state of tune. The chart is using crankshaft degrees, which means you double them to get distributor degrees. Generally speaking, XPAG engine like to see 32-35* BTDC at full advance (mechanical plus static), usually around 3500 RPM. So I kind of like the look of advance setting #1.

I've never set one up but I believe you set to 0* BTDC and a light comes on. Hopefully it came with instructions. If not, you should be able to download them from the manufacturer.

Maybe someone else here has more experience with the 123.
