Oil pressure gauge repair
Oil pressure gauge repair
Although advertised under wanted any recommendations for repair to my oil pressure gauge on my 1955bTF1500 please.
Re: Oil pressure gauge repair
My first question is are you sure it's the gauge? Unless the port is blocked it is more likely that the gauge is not reading sufficient oil pressure. If the gauge has been left unused for a very long time it may be clogged up in which case you could leave it inverted with a little penetrating oil in it overnight.
The gauge should not be dismantled but you can test it with air pressure. Blowing into it is not sufficient. Set your compressor to @40 psi and give it a blast. It should work. If it does nothing then you will need to send it to a specialist.

Re: Oil pressure gauge repair
On that side of the pond the first person that comes to mind is John Marks.

Thanks Ray and Steve. It`s stuck on 50 psi. I`ve been running the car with a temporary auxiliary gauge for sometime but really ought to get the dash one sorted. I need a replacement ammeter as well. The original terminals burnt out and using a temporary replacement in the hope that a good original "turns up". Will have a chat with John Marks.
Re: Oil pressure gauge repair
He did a brilliant job with my instruments; including the oil pressure gauge, a few years ago. I know he was thinking of retirement but he may still take on T series work. If you speak to him, please pass on my best wishes.jddevel wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 8:14 amThanks Ray and Steve. It`s stuck on 50 psi.
