spedo pinion housing removeable

thought removing the housing would be easy. removed the safety wire and two screws but the
housing is pretty well stuck. also not easy to get to either. fishing for an easy solution from our
forum friends.

They can get really stuck in there sometimes. I just went through this a few weeks ago and my solution was to gently tap with a mallet and a piece of wood (to prevent marring the housing) to twist it back and forth. Combined with working oil down there, it eventually started to work its way out

This is a good time to do the o-ring modification if you haven't already. FTFU sells them already done on an exchange basis.

well, finally got it out. what a bugger. took a thin chisel to drive in the joint and a liberal amount of
nut blaster to break loose. now after cleanup and assembly, getting the safety wire in place
looks like a challenge.
yes i have a new housing with o-ring installed.
