Tc fuel gauge

Post by tone » Thu Nov 02, 2023 12:29 pm

Hi is there a kit or has anyone fitted a fuel gauge to a Tc?
I’m thinking of something like the triple m fitted into top of the tank
I do have a marked stick which is ok but a bit smelly in the car with the top up

The low fuel warning light was and is very practical. It tells you when you have an hour of driving left to find a fueling station.

I remember someone on this forum looking into doing it, but I'm not sure if he ever found a sending unit that would work. The low fuel light comes on at around 2 gallons remaining as I recall.

I have bought one of Declan Burns' hydrostatic sender units that works electronically with a gauge on the dash. No need for any alterations to the tank as it is fitted to the outlet. Having said that, I have yet to fit it to my car as I am not yet at that stage in the rebuild. I will be keeping the warning light as a back up.
