'49 TC
'was checking the pinion shims from Moss... 236-490
the two .010 shims measured* .007. ( *Starrett micrometer )
the .002 shim was .002 .

I've run into that with hub shims many times, from different suppliers. It seems like an easy thing to get right for whoever manufactures them. I have to measure every shim to make sure it's what it says it is.

maybe shims should be marked > .010 +/- (more or less)...

Got some of their steering box top plate shims several years back and they were not even made of metal. Those shims must be metal. I also got a new top plate at the same time (actually got 2) and it was very good quality with hard chrome applied on the (lightly crosshatched) working side.
