new carpet set

Post by Ray White » Wed May 29, 2024 4:41 am

I am attempting to trim my TC and would like to hear from anyone who has fitted a purpose made carpet set. They seem to vary in quality and price but there must be certain things to look out for?

Ray, I bought a set from Moss many years ago and they were OK. I don't believe the carpets in a TC were edge bound and the set from Moss was not either. These are just pretty plain carpets and certainly not deluxe in any way. Years and years ago I had an MGA that had the original factory carpets and as I recall they were of about the same quality.

Tooting my own horn here, but the carpet sets closest to original come from me here at Kimber Creek Ltd.
Original style Karvel black carpeting (though in synthetic instead of wool/synthetic original blend), properly cut to shape with handbrake gaiter and heel mat sewn in. Unbound edges as original, floor pad and installation hardware included.

They look really sharp when installed, and better quality than others on the market I've recently seen. Right now I'm really disappointed in what Moss is offering.

The order book has been closed to make time for me to work on my cars but we are opening it for a run of carpets this summer.

Contact me if you want a set.

Can someone post a few pictures of how the carpets look installed? Specifically how the seat hinge goes under the carpet and how the the front carpet meets the rear? A few pics of the footwell with the fasteners would be helpful as well

The cost of shipping to the U.K. would be prohibitive.
