Shuddering clutch

After years of wondering why and getting utterly frustrated, I decided to have the the engine be taken out and finally address the phenomen of my shuddering clutch when engaging first gear, this only happened when engine was warm. No problems when starting and driving away and engine was cold. Endless tries in adjusting clutch were fruitless.
It turned out, that the workshop, who installed engine and gearbox in the TC 6 years ago, had installed the clutch plate the wrong way round. On the plate itself it was clearly printed " Flywheel Side"
The first years after installing, all was fine and the clutch behaved normally, only over the years as the plate did wear down, it started rubbing itself agains the screws holding the flywheel.
Small mistake, but expensive and an annoying restult which only came to light after years of unproblematic service !
So now again, happy TC motoring!!

Never thought it would fit. Most jeddering clutches are due to oil on the plate or a bent plate, bent due to letting the engine hang on the first motion shaft when refitting the engine to box.
