Jim - slick, and the best of both worlds! It's rare that one sees a nice, fully-sorted TC. Bravo!

May I assume the "Norwitt/Westlake C.I." head is somehow related to a Laystall Lucas head? I have never heard of a "Norwitt/Westlake C.I." head, and would be delighted to learn more about it.

Does the stock bonnet close all right with the offset head? What sort of header do you use, and what cam?

Tom-Norwitt was a race shop that operated in the San Francisco bay area in the 50's and 60's and modifies stock cast iron heads for competition, mostly with heavy milling of the head and larger valves. It is marked as having a 10:1 compression ratio. I had the combustion chamber further modified as shown in drawings by Harvey Westlake to improve flow. I run wth a .125 solid copper head gasket to reduce compression. I should post a copy in the tech section.

I modified the bonnet to have a removable "bubble" cover over the carbs. It sort of matches the generator cover on the other side. I have "detuned" the engine to a stock cam (I have a 3/4 race cam and it is included in the sale). The header is a custom build but is very similar the a Derrington.

Jim - all very useful and helpful information. I will try the Westlake mod on my next cylinder head job - thanks for posting the drawings.
