Coast-to-Coast August 2018
Posted: Sun Jul 23, 2017 11:06 am
We are planning a coast to coast run for August next year.
The plan is to assemble at the Midland Hotel in Morecombe (This is the famous art deco hotel recently refurbished).
We would then cross to Scarborough using as many country “B” and un-numbered roads as possible.
A mid-morning tea/coffee break will be organised and lunch at a pub followed by a mid-afternoon tea/coffee break.
The run will take place on a Saturday so participants who would wish to stay overnight in Morecombe can We will negotiate rates at the Midland and The Morecombe Bay Hotel for those who would wish to arrive on the Friday evening. Likewise, we will arrange an evening meal and hotels at Scarborough for those wishing to stay there overnight.
There will be a £10 “deposit” to ensure participation but this will be deducted from the meal at the lunchtime pub. The route will be on laminated A4 pages bound in a folder.
Please register your interest by emailing Norman Verona at norman@frenchblat.com. If there is sufficient interest the deposits will be payable next spring when we will finalise the route and stops etc.
ps Average speed will be set at Satndard T Type speed, about 28 mph across the narrow and bumpy lanes.
