Just joined. Clint Taylor, Greytown New Zealand. Cunningplans@xtra.co.nz. Just finished rebuilding TC 1157 which should have apparently XPAG 1806 engine but actually has XPAG 10433. Registration number in the UK and now here in NZ will be KTJ915

I am trying to get the MG on the road and part of the inspection process requires numbers etc.

Can anyone please tell me year of production and any info on engine numbers so I can get the old girl on the road after 18 odd years off in the garage. Regards Clint

Hi Clint, this link may help you: http://tregister.org/search_prodm.php

According to the production records, your car was manufactured on 23 July, 1946 with XPAG 1806 as you noted. Maybe you can search the records to find the later engine number also.

XPAG 10433 originally was in a TC built around September 1949.

brilliant thank you. So it appears I have 46 with a 49 engine.
Be great to have her on the road. Out of interest the first TC I wanted was in Rhodesia and it was $25, belonged to a prefect and I was about 16. Next one was $200. Dad said no.Then marriage, kids, mortgage and managed to buy a wreck 2002 in the UK and has taken me until now to rebuild her. Been an amazing experience and will use her as a daily unless bucketing down. kind regards Clint

There aren't many daily driver TCs left. I only know of two others! Ours gets driven a lot but my daily is one of those modern cars, a '67 MGB GT.

To be precise, XPAG10433 was originally fitted to TC9652.
