6 volt RF91 Lucas Volt Reg be modified to 12 volts?

If anyone knows whether a 6 volt version of the RF91 can be reasonably adapted to 12 volts, then please advise because one is needed and there may be a 6 volt version to be obtained on well known auction site at reasonable cost.
