MGTC tires
MGTC tires
I am finally going to bite the bullet and replace my "very old" dunlop tires on my TC so am am looking for recommendations on sources for replacement tires. Checked out Blockley tires but the shipping to Miane might be a deal breaker. Appreciate any help in making a selection...Thanks

Re: MGTC tires
I have been using the standard Excelsiors from Coker and find them to be fine for my needs of general running around, they also look very similar to the Dunlops. They have about 6K on them and seem to be wearing well. Given they are bias plys, I would not expect 30 or 40K life span though.

I have little experience with different tires, but have been very happy with my Dunlop B5 as originally fitted. Handling is good although they do wander a little on grooved concrete. You can get a softer ride with Firestones or similar.

Hi Mr. Brown,
You may want to check out Lucas Classic Tires ( https://www.lucasclassictires.com ). They have the 400x19 Blockley for $171 + shipping. You may talk to the East cost shop, shipping cost may be must better from there. I have my TC fitted with 5 Blockley, and it's great (see picture). Made sure you have it balance and check the Toe-In (1/4 in) with a good shop. It will last you another 10 t 20 years.

Re: MGTC tires
How long tires last depends on driving. I have worn out Blockleys in 3 years ( maybe 8000 miles). But I drive the TC pretty hard.Henry Pang wrote:You may want to check out Lucas Classic Tires ( https://www.lucasclassictires.com ). They have the 400x19 Blockley for $171 + shipping. Henry,
I notice you were using the 400X19 but I thought the TC used 450's.

Check with Coker, Lucas and others to see if they are doing any swap meets in your area. Coker was doing the Portland, OR swap meet and I ordered a set of tires and tubes and picked them up at the meet with no shipping charge.
