I would like to introduce myself.

I am a car fanatic living in South Africa and managed to purchase TC 5560 about 3 months ago.

It was a blind buy as the car was in Pretoria and I down in Port Elizabeth.

All I knew about the car was what the part owner told me over the phone.

Very original, nobody tried to restore her and a daily running condition, and the photoes on our local Gumtree.

Well... I had to buy a new battery to get her from the depot to my house.

Then I had to repair the starter as it was the culprit for the flat battery.

Currently she is in bits and pieces as I opred for a full on restoration as well as colour change.

So I will be asking lots of Questions. I have obtained a copy of TCs Forever, but.....

Herman, welcome from another newbie. |Good luck with the rebuild/restoration.

I've just bought a 1949 TC, one of the last, only 73 before production ceased.

It's been in a garage since the 60s so I think I'm luck to have been able to purchase it. The car is in Sheffiled UK and I'm in France. It's coming by a transporter and should be here on 28th.

That steering wheel looks a lot like one for an EXU, btw, FB. FB and Herman--There are a lot of web sources for info that give pretty detailed TC info that should be good for helping on your restorations. The resources/technical info on this site is good, and this forum excellent for questions. Another book often recommended with the "TC's Forever" is the workshop manual covering many types of MG's by W.E. Blower. I have found the above sites quite helpful. I'm sure I have left out some other good ones. Have fun!
