Front number plate mounting brackets UK TC

Can anyone tell me if the number plate mounting brackets shown in the picture of the front of my UK TC are original? They certainly look as if they have been there a long time but I can't find them detailed in any catalogues.

They're not original. You can see the original holes for the number plate beside these brackets...they originally had captive nuts in them.

I have just taken off the number plate which was mounted in the holes at the side. The number plate was over the top of these brackets, which made me think they were there before.
