EX120 on TC frame

What would "EX120" stamped on the frame of TC3932 indicate? Don't know where it's stamped, just heard that it was there.

Group- The "EX120" is a tribute to George Eyston and land speed record MG EX 120. This is the Midget that set the land speed record of 100.87 MPH at Montlhery. The first car of less than 750cc to go 100MPH. It was the end of January 1931, and in many ways all the cars with an MG on it since, owe their existence to this tough little competitor that grabbed important attention for Abingdon, Eyston, and Cecil Kimber.

With respect to the above subject, stamp marking; am I given to understand this was common to all TC vehicles ?

I was quite involved in baring and repainting the frame and I do not recall finding any markings, of that nature, so I reckon, if it is there, then I have been very remiss in my work and observations, indeed !

Have a look on the casting inside the rear body mount where the front of the rear spring mounts. Both left and right hand castings on my chassis had 'EX120' cast into them. My TC is a 47 model. Perhaps they used different casting patterns on later models without the 'EX120' cast in. Another research project for the team?

Good day all:

Amazing how a detail such as the above can escape detection. The following applies to my vehicle only. How they may be seen on others I have no inklings at all.

The embossings; "EX 120" and "12", as appearing on TC6768.

On the near-side (L), rear spring, front fixing bracket:

The "EX" is found; aft of the head, of the lower, forward bracket fixing rivet. The "120" is situated forward, of the head, of the lower, aft bracket fixing rivet. Furthermore; aft of the head, of the lower, aft bracket fixing rivet, the number "12" is embossed.

Confusing attempt at explanation, yes ? Is all that information really wanted or necessary, probably not !

Anyway if you think the above attempt at clarification was bad; wait for it ! Try the off-side ! Pictures are sure worth the thousand words in ramblings like this !

On the off-side (R), rear spring, front fixing bracket:

All of the above aft and forward locations must now be reversed, except for all the lower references, at least they can stay the same wot !
