Spare tire cover

Post by Peter Roberts » Mon Dec 07, 2020 1:22 pm

Can anyone source a tan (beige) canvas spare tire cover for a TC?

If you can't find a commercial one, a local canvas-upholstery guy can easily make one from scratch. Anyone who can make a Bimini top for a boat can make a spare tire cover. Just know what you want - how to hold it on the tire, whether you want piping, etc.

1930-31 Model A used similar 19" tires. Would probably say FORD on one side.

I am actually looking for a cover that only covers the tread. It would leave the hub and wires showing. Everything I have found fully covers the tire. Not what I want.

I had a Model T with a 19" cover on it, made of vinyl and Ford script on one side. It was cheap. But it didn't look as nice as a cloth one. I agree that a local upholstery shop or seamstress could make one easily. Tom Wilson is in the TC upholstery business. Maybe worth checking with him?
