I am rebuilding a 48 TC and plan on installing a complete new interior. I am going to go with green leather. Which is the best company to get this from? I am building this car to be a very nice driver and am not looking for cheap but want the best quality.

I am departing from the standard interior in having a full leather as opposed to leather/vinyl mix . The usual suppliers are not very flexible so if you want bespoke you need to go to an independent trimmer. I have selected my preferred leather from U.K.hides for them to use and will have the opportunity of tailoring the door cards and side panels/wheel arches etc. myself before they are finally made up. This is important because a new interior kit as supplied will not always fit very well.

I will need a complete new seat back as the one that came with my car was not just beyond repair but also incorrect for the year. I felt this was a chance to get a new seat back made to the correct 'P' profile. New seat bases have also been required as they are longer than the earlier design.

Another TC owner I have spoken to has used PJM Motors of Market Drayton on more than one occasion and is very happy wit their work... so I have given them my order.

The cost is high so I just hope the gamble pays off.!

Moss Motors has good quality for the price, but if you want the best and are willing to pay for it, contact Tom Wilson who is a member of this forum. He makes very high quality, correct interior parts for our cars.

I have a Moss green interior that I installed in TC2911 some years ago. The seat top surfaces are leather, the sides and front are vinyl as I believe per original. I was satisfied with the quality, installation, and how the interior has held up the last 15 years or so. I cannot speak for the others, but am sure they are well done also.

I can highly recommend Tom Wilson. His company is called Kimber Creek, Ltd. He made up the interior for my TA, and it is absolutely beautiful. The level of detail and craftsmanship is remarkable, and the price reflects that, but well worth it IMO.

I got my complete interior (less carpet) from Newton Commercial. I wanted a custom colour (cream) which Newton were happy to supply. They only supply T-type trim to the trade so after having agreed details with Newton I ordered it through NTG Services. NTG now actually list their T-type trim under the Newton name and if you are going for the original MG green there should be no problem buying from them.

All parts fitted very well and I'm pleased with the final result.....

Hello: Over the years I've restored one TD and three TC's with Moss interior kits. If there was a five-star rating, I would give them 4 1/2. This is in light of the lower cost for the decent quality. If you go with Moss, then count on making adjustments for good side-panel fit, especially on the pointy forward tops of the doors. If you don't then you will have trouble getting the doors to fit well. Next area is where the door panels meet the "B" pillar (rear quarter panel). You need to peel back the material and cut the plywood and re-glue the material. Another is the radius of the lower forward part of the doors. There are other possible adjustments too, but I find these are the salient ones. I'm sure it's difficult to mass produce accurate interior kits for 70+ year old sports cars that had varying dimensions when they were new. Another criticism is that the pleated surfaces should be more rounded like surviving examples of original seat faces. Moss' kits have been criticized as having flat pleats. Lastly, there's the latest Rexine conversation if you have been following that topic in the other MG Forum. If I were going to restore another T car and I was willing to pay the price I would definitely explore Kimber Creek.
