Fitting main bearings.

Post by jddevel » Sun May 23, 2021 2:12 am

In the process of fitting new main bearings in my TC. Whilst the middle and front "push in" 95% using thumbs and set nicely with a slight tap with a rubber hammer there is no way the rear one will go in. The width of the block housing is 2mm wider than the inner width (between the flanges). So how do you deal with this please. I would also comment that the old back mains are the same. They came out but also wont go in!!! The block has just been rebored but surely it is illogical to think that this has effected it.
