TC starter motor

Post by jddevel » Mon Oct 04, 2021 5:28 am

On my Lucas M418G starter motor (TC) the input terminal (negative) appears to have a very decayed rubber "grommet" between the cable connection and the end plate. Is that the case or is it some sort of insulation washer? Is it 45A on the Moss schematics?

Yes, it's an insulating grommet and incorporates a rubber flange to protect the body of the switch. This picture shows it fitted....

Thank you. Sorted and order. Had another problem, Someone had installed a number of washers behind the copper ring that makes the contact between terminals when the lever/pull cable is operated. Result once cleaned up was permanently "contact made"!!!!!

Thanks Duncan. On order from The Octagon Club here in the UK. Fortunately normally a lot less expensive than Moss.
