Amal bonet latch question.

Post by Ray White » Tue Nov 16, 2021 2:04 am

I have noticed that the bonnet catch back plates on my car have a mixture of square and hexagon nuts. This may only be of interest to concours devotees but I would still like to know what would MG have fitted originally.?

All the latches I've taken apart have been hex nuts. Screws are domed flat head type. I seem to recall there were lock washers under the nuts as well, maybe someone else knows for sure. If not, I can check the parts book and see if it lists them.
