TC brake light switch

Unfortunately my memory has once again failed me. Whilst I realise where the brake pedal return spring is attached I cannot recall where the spring end NOT attached to the brake switch activating lever, is attached. It`s to short to be attached directly to the same hole on the bottom of the brake pedal. Unless the spring that came with the car was not the original.
