Valve Springs

Post by Steve Simmons » Sun Mar 19, 2023 11:29 am

For anyone who has installed a Crane Fast Road cam, did you go with heavier springs? I'm considering putting one in an XPEG, which I believe already has slightly heavier springs than XPAG. The question is really whether or not the stock XPEG springs are heavy enough for the cam. This is in a TC that is driven hard at times, but not raced.

Starting on page 36 of the MFK Wood paper in the Supertuning section he talks about both 1.25 and 1.5 engines. For the XPEG he mentions a few different cams, but it looks like he starts suggesting stiffer springs right at 10:1 C.R.

Hi Steve
on My 0433 MG TC
from Peter EDNEY,
I have a Fast Road Cam 030
and Strong Springs set 050
BUT if remember well under the Rocker Pedestal I must put 4 Shim set MOSS 433-128
the alternative was the short PUSH ROD 433-335
