One UPGRADE of My DATSUN 240 Z Brake Drums ....

Recently I must use the brakes for one strong EMERGENCY and they work very, very well- over my expectations-
During one of my regular trips, to maintain the TC operative, I found in one tight curve one other car stopped just a few meters after, with no space to escape, luckily I am ready to push the brake at a desperate breaking, (My speed isn't appropriate to the road) and TC stopped..... safe!!!

Probably without my turn to DATSUN Drums, the end of this story can be different

I've gone through the hole routine of trying to improve the braking on my TC over the years including 2 LS. The best improvement I've come up with is to put good tyres on the car, in my case the the Bridgestone radials. In a panic stock you can hit your nose on the windscreen.

Hi Charlie. What size are they please? You said they would reduce final drive by 5%.

Have you changed your CWP yet?

Some time ago I bought a set of 19" Wayfarers to go on new wheels with my rebuild which is not finished yet. I have a 39/8 CWP which is 4.875 : 1 (same as TA) I guess a lower final drive is the compromise I will have to accept if I go for radials instead. The speedo will also need recalibrating.
