Unsuccessfully tried to search for design suggestions for door safety catches. Any suggestions for search titles please.

Most people seem to use marine door latches. This is what FTFU and others sell. Search the web for "marine door latch" and you'll get lots of hits. Here's what FTFU has: https://fromtheframeup.com/products/ac1 ... h-set-of-2

Thanks Steve. I had no problems since the rebuild until an "episode" last summer ( My fault -don`t ask) and after sorting now have concern over it fitting neatly on the second notch. So as a precaution think I`ll fit something like your suggestion.

Thanks Mick. Did see those. Will have to invest and check out. Wasn`t sure whether they`d lock in place or perhaps vibrate open.
