MPJG rebuild

Hi guys looking for any advise on the rebuild of my MPJG . I had all white metal bearings a redone and a couple of conrods straightened, I bought it as seized and as you may see the thing had a lucky escape, car was in a very poor state hench the new everything
I can’t find a schematic for how it all goes together
I can remember how it does but I am just aware of falling into that trap just because it was on/in the engine doesn’t mean it should be there, looks like it’s been raced. I found bill Davis site which is superb but no detail , also it’s very tight to turn over and needs a short bar to move , I’ve read somewhere this is correct

I wonder do you have the manual written by WE Blower and published first by Motor Racing Publications and later by Bentley? It covers M to TF and has lots of pictures of the MPJG engine. I found two copies on ebay. There is also the Autobook manual by Kenneth Ball covering TA to TF.

Unfortunately my TA lost it's MPJG engine 65 years ago, so I only have acquaintance with the MGA 1500 engine it acquired then.

Hi Bob that’s great I do have,I am pretty sure I could put it together without the manual and I’ve took loads of pictures and marked accordingly on de construction, it’s just that I found a medium sized brass nut (bsp)in the sump which puzzled me ! Starting to think it could of been off an oil temperature sensor
I’ve made a start on my steel bits but sadly I am on light duties until new year , the Docs told me I can’t play out till then!!!mmm I’ve got other stuff to post sadly not many of them interesting. May be worth doing a thread on the build let’s see
