MG TA Headlight assembly
My Ta came with the headlights in bits and I have since had them chromed. Can anyone send me a photo/photos of the inside of the headlamps as I have no idea where all the clips and screw attachments go.
Re: MG TA Headlight assembly
There are a few variations among the Lucas M140 headlamp units fitted to Types, but the assembly is similar in all.
This unit is from a '48 TC converted to take 7" light units - so no separate lens or reflector and a modified rim.
This is the bowl assembly with the 'spectacle' clip and retainer, plus the mounting nut and washer... ...and this is the rim assembly with the light unit, the bulb holder, bulb and four retaining clips... The spectacle clip and retainer are loose assembled to the bowl unit - the retainer fits through a slot in the bowl and the hooked end engages the clip... The light unit is clipped to the rim... Here's a close-up of a clip fitted... ..to be continued....

Re: MG TA Headlight assembly
The wiring is fed from the light unit through the bowl mount....
... the rim assembly snapped onto the bowl....
...and secured with the retainer engaging in a hole in the rim...
Hope this helps.- martinjames
