Hi SteveW
I live not to far from J26 and go past on a regular basis. I have more or less finished panelling my tub having first assembled most of the wood - it was part built when I got the car. I would be happy to call in and give you the benefit of my very limited knowledge. I have just spent 3 weeks getting one door to hang properly but got there in the end. I will post some pictures when I have finished both. Email me direct if you want to discuss further. Cheers. Tim

You may not be aware, depending upon the condition of the old tub, that the three slotted tabs on the running boards locate long bolts that actually go through the sheet metal below the door, the sill timber, and than through the angle iron bracing that runs along the inner part of the sill timber and are secured by washers and nuts giving a very strong attachment of the running board.

I have to say that I wasn't aware of that Stephen - thank you for the info. At the moment my boards are fitted with woodscrews through the front two brackets, plus my new bracket at the rear. Long bolts are obviously a more secure and rigid fixing, although the running board brackets on the repro Moss items are much less substantial than the originals and will deform long before any fixing to the tub. Still, I shall replace the front two fixings with bolts as original.stephen stierman wrote:You may not be aware, depending upon the condition of the old tub, that the three slotted tabs on the running boards locate long bolts that actually go through the sheet metal below the door, the sill timber, and than through the angle iron bracing that runs along the inner part of the sill timber and are secured by washers and nuts giving a very strong attachment of the running board.
What a useful source of help this forum is.

Glad to help. Actually the third and last tab is located with a long bolt also, it is just up from the lower edge of the sill. You may be trying to place your running board down just a bit low, hence the problem, keep in mind that these things were all hand built from the works and fit up was a bit sketchy.

Hi Tim, That would be good and if you don't mind it would be good to have a look at yours to see what will be confronting me in the next few months. I'll send you a separate e-mail (if the link to your e-mail address from this thread works).timandgerda wrote:Hi SteveW
