TC 9106 (9462)

Post by Gene Gillam » Wed Jan 02, 2013 5:14 pm

TC 9106 was a total basket-case. It has an aluminum, home-made (and not made well) body that's a bit too wide at the cowl, an un-numbered (possibly damaged in the past) frame, non-original aluminum firewall, TD engine...but at least it has a TC transmission (or has until I manage to swap it out for a 5-speed).

I bought it for racing so I wasn't worried about originality and, even though I haven't raced it (YET), I'm still not worried about originality. It looks good, runs well and garners a lot of attention!

*ED. Note: Has frame number 9462

Steve has informed me that larger photos can be posted...here's a try at that.

Oh man, I hope you post a nice long, photo-filled thread about that car. It's sooo lovely.

I'll try Steve...had computer problems a while back and lost some photos but I'll see what I can resurrect and put in order.

Originality Police? Uhhhh...who cares?
And with a forum of this type they don't even have to comment...just look, turn their nose up and close it.
Of course, on our existing site that's all they have to do too but they nevertheless ALWAYS seem to comment.

Does that ever look like a fun drive! Like a lot of other guys I'm sure, I'd like to see a few more photos. The interior, some more chassis details, and so on.

Great work, and truly in the spirit of what MG is all about!

Laughing...nope...VW. If I ever do a build thread I'll make sure I post a "How To" on just that part of the build!

I can abide by all the mods, but that VW box just takes it too over the edge.........

Hi Steve, Wait until the sector arm starts to shear off in the BC box, having a Tompkins adaptor gives some pre-disposition to such an event, and yes "over the edge" could be just a little too prophetic.
