1949 MG TC

Post by Douglas James Taylor » Mon Jun 19, 2017 8:25 am

Hi does anyone know this car, it is a white 1949 MG TC with tan interior and black hood, which was supplied to Mr Provan New South Wales, Australia in 1949, and then was shipped to Mr Ian Ward California in 2006.

The chassis and engine numbers are TC7908 and XPAG8451. It has a registration number of CH 6654.

I bought the car recently from New York and is currently being shipped to the UK, and then to Scotland. It is my intention to carry out a ground up restoration and eventually fit a supercharger.

Hi Douglas,
Interesting that you say car was originally supplied to a NSW person...I have all records of TCs sold new in NSW and TC7908 is not one of them(perhaps bought interstate...Victoria maybe) As the car is wearing Victorian historic plates,I would suggest writing to Matthew Magilton in Melbourne, he would probably know of its Victorian history...mbmagilton@msn.com

Hi Jeff, that is GREAT news, many thanks. Yes I believe it to be Victoria and the person who had the car was a Mr Provan. I will contact Mathew in Victoria.

Many thanks again.

I used to know Ian but haven't seen him in several years. I believe he lives in central California.
